Development of Public Administration Research with a Bibliometric Analysis

Recently, several studies adopted bibliometric methodology to estimate the development of field public administration (PA). However, only a small scope journals was covered in their analyses. Few those investigated evolution entire field. To make progress, this paper included 19-year timespan, 53 journals, and more than 20,000 items for analysis way. Both activity quality indicators research results were applied from perspective with 3-year 5-year citation windows at three aggregation levels including journal, country, institution by using publications PA indexed Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). “Resident” journal is proposed as new concept explore differences between traditional emerging forces. The suggest that resident maintain large advantage over other terms higher impact indicators. Moreover, international national collaboration shows growth tendency, especially type. majority active institutions are US UK, which indicates dominant position others. This study provides comprehensive comparisons through large-scale data acknowledged methods research.
